Becoming an exchange participant
EXAA settles and clears trades in electricity products on behalf of the Vienna Stock Exchange (Wiener Börse) as a general commodity exchange.
Companies wishing to participate in trading on the energy exchange must therefore become members of Wiener Börse.
Requirements for such exchange membership under the Stock Exchange Act
- Commercial involvement in the electricity business
- Establishment of a balancing group in Austria or in Germany’s RWE or E.ON balancing area, or membership in such a balancing group
The steps to an exchange participation at a glance
- Application for admission to trading on EXAA
- Delivery of the last two fiscal years’ audited annual financial statements, including the notes and management report
- Positive outcome of the credit analysis
- Delivery of the current report from the register of companies
- Direct debit authorisation for a settlement account
- Posting of sufficient collateral as per the terms and conditions
- Waiving of obligation to maintain banking secrecy and data secrecy
